Hello,
I have an Acer Predator G3600 and I reinstalled my Windows 10 completely by formatting my drive. To redo the installation, I had to convert my disk from MBR to GPT format to match the UEFI model.
The installation was done correctly and everything works perfectly.
Except that since, impossible to turn off my computer. With the Stop button, it seems that the hard drive stops working but the fans continue to run. So, i must force them to turn off my computer ...
I tried a lot of things: BIOS update and Acer Chipset, all my Win10 1909 updates, all my graphics driver updates etc ... I tried to remove the quick start, I disabled Intel (R) Management Engine Interface etc ... Anyway I don't have the solution! What do you think ? I had never had this problem before, that is to say before my reinstallation 3 days ago. I have already reinstalled also and same effect.

I did amazing !! Finally I followed my instinct, I created a bootable installation key in MBR via Rufus. I formatted and converted my GPT disk to MBR then I managed to install Windows 10. Everything went well and I tried to shut it down: victory !!!

Options
Try accessing the bios and then press f9 to restore it and then f10 to save and exit. If the problem still occurs, check if something is registered in the windows event viewer.

Hello,
I have successfully restored the BIOS but without success. I also did the Windows 10 2004 update which did not change the problem when I try to shut down the computer.

I don't have a FastBoot option in my BIOS. As for QuietBoot, this has no effect on shutting down the PC.
I am not an expert but do you think that reinstalling Windows on a GPT disk does not have an influence? I do not know if my BIOS is really a UEFI (the PC dates from 2010). Should we try to reinstall Windows 10 with a bootable key in MBR format?

Double check in power options what it's set for when you press the power button. It might be only sleeping. Also in safe mode does it hang for a long time and then shut off, or is it in that hung mode forever?
